Dr. Fava Sheds Light on X-Rays and Radiation

Dr. Philip Fava is once again making blogosphere news, this month as guest author for the dental blog “Numb My Gums,” a site dedicated to “helping patients make informed decisions about their health care.”

In his article, “Dental X-Rays Are Safe—and Necessary—Tools of Oral Diagnosis,” Dr. Fava explains how dental x-rays produce less radiation exposure than a flight from New York to LA. Despite the fact that both he and Dr. Levine consider x-rays very safe for their patients, they never trivialize any patient concerns. Says Dr. Fava: “Never hesitate to ask your dental professional for a full explanation of the type of x-ray suggested.”
