Case Study #1: Stephanie F.
Chief Concern: 65 year old female with a 20 year old upper crown and bridge fixed restoration that was “falling apart,” due to dental caries and periodontal disease. She wants to replace her teeth with a fixed dental implant bridge.
Treatment Received: In one surgical visit, the teeth were removed and implant site development was completed with bilateral lateral wall sinus augmentation (vertical bone reconstruction) followed by 8 implants 12 months later. She wore a transitional removable denture during the healing phase. The final case is a fixed bridge attached to 8 implants with a night guard appliance made to protect her “investment.”
Case Study #2: John
Chief Concern: 64 year old male presents with failing fixed bridgework in his upper arch and is unable to wear a lower removable partial denture. He desires a permanent solution to his problems.
Treatment Received: Two Dental implants were placed in each posterior quadrant with fabrication of 2 four-unit bridges to avoid sinus bone augmentation in his upper arch and 2 single implant crowns were completed bilaterally in his lower arch.
Case Study #3: Lee L. 50 Year Old
Chief Concern: Patient very unhappy with her smile, loose teeth and fit of her removable partial denture.
Treatment Received: After nonsurgical periodontal therapy was completed in her lower jaw, her upper remaining teeth were removed with the placement of 6 dental implants. A transitional full maxillary denture was worn during the healing phase followed by a full arch implant restoration. Lower arch implants are planned in the future.
Case Study #4: Joan M
Chief Concern: Patient had non-restorable recurrent decay on all upper teeth and wanted to be rid of her upper partial denture.
Treatment Received: Eight SameDay Smile® dental implants to replace her uncomfortable upper partial denture with a complete set of permanent teeth.
Case Study #5: Maria B. 60 Year Old
Chief Concern: Patient presents with a 20 year old upper failing reconstruction due to generalized severe dental caries on abutment teeth. She was unhappy with her gummy and asymmetrical smile.
Treatment Received: In one surgical visit, all upper teeth were removed, 8 dental implants placed for SameDay Smile®. An immediate fixed provisional was inserted and her case completed 3 months later as 3 separate fixed porcelain bridges. A night guard was fabricated to protect her porcelain restorations.
Case Study #6: Maria P. 49 Year Old
Chief Concern: Patient is unhappy with her smile and is aware of her advanced periodontal disease, generalized loose teeth and discomfort upon chewing.
Treatment Received: In one surgical visit, all upper and lower teeth were removed; bilateral sinus augmentation (lateral wall approach) was completed with ridge preservation (i.e. bone reconstruction) for future implant site development. In addition, 6 lower SameDay Smile® implants were placed and immediately loaded in function. Six weeks later, the lower jaw was commenced to be completed in 3 sections with porcelain fused to metal crown and bridge restorations. A few months later, 8 implants were placed in the upper jaw. She was restored in 4 sections in the upper jaw with porcelain fused to metal crown and bridge restorations. A night guard was fabricated to protect her porcelain restorations.

Case Study #7: Tatyana B
Chief Concern: 63 year old female presents with being very unhappy with her smile, very loose teeth and inability to function with a removable partial denture.
Treatment Received: Periodontal therapy was completed in the lower arch and in one surgical visit, removal of her remaining upper teeth and bilateral lateral wall sinus augmentation. A transitional complete upper denture was worn during the healing phase followed by the placement of 6 dental implants. The case was completed as a porcelain fused to metal 1 piece prosthesis with pink gingiva.
Case Study #8: Zhanna T. 50 Year Old
Chief Concern: Patient presents after being treated as a “dental tourist” in foreign countries. All previous dental work including implants have failed. Recently, two lower right implants fell out.
Treatment Received: In 2 surgical visits starting with the lower arch, all teeth and failed implants were removed and 6 implants were placed for a SameDay Smile®. Her case was completed in 3 separate porcelain bridges in each arch.
Case Study #9: Joe D.
Chief Concern: 51 year old male presents with esthetic and functioning concerns as his upper bridge is very loose due to severe recurrent dental decay (caries).
Treatment Received: In one surgical visit, the remaining upper teeth were removed, implant site development was completed with bone grafting in remaining sites and a lateral wall sinus bone augmentation was completed in his upper right sinus. Nine months later, 8 implants were placed and he was restored in a 1 piece porcelain bridge. A night guard was made to protect his investment.
Case Study #10: Liya R.
Chief Concern: 71 year old female presents with desires to be rid of uncomfortable lower and upper partial denture. Her remaining lower teeth are very loose and uncomfortable.
Treatment Received: In one surgical visit, the remaining lower teeth were removed and 6 SameDay Smile® implants were placed and immediately restored with a fixed temporary bridge. The lower was completed as a one-piece fixed porcelain bridge. The upper back implants were placed three years later and restored as bilateral 3-unit bridges with distal cantilevers.
