Ambler is a borough located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, approximately 16 miles north of Center City section of Philadelphia. The borough was named in honor of Mary Johnson Ambler, a local Quaker woman who walked two miles to bring medical supplies and turned her home into an impromptu hospital during a disastrous train accident that is locally known as The Great Train Wreck of 1856.
