Meet Dr. Fava

Dr. Philip Fava leads the Pennsylvania Center for Dental Implants and Periodontics (“PA Dental”), a regional center for dental surgery and oral healthcare with locations in Philadelphia, Ambler and Fort Washington.

As the Center’s lead board-certified periodontist and implant surgeon, Dr. Fava specializes in state-of-the-art surgical implant placement, periodontal plastic surgery procedures, and reconstructive and regenerative therapies.  He is recognized for his innovative techniques and advanced expertise in autogenous hard- and soft- tissue grafting and is sought after as a dedicated educator and mentor in the field.

Dr. Fava earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (UPenn) and completed his specialty residency in Periodontics and earned a Master of Dental Science (MDSc) at the University of Connecticut (UConn).  He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a Fellow of the International Team of Implantology (ITI) and a Fellow of the International Society of Periodontal Plastic Surgeons (ISPPS). He currently serves as Director of the Philadelphia Tri-State ITI Study Club, leader of two Spear Study Clubs, Spear Study Club Advisory Council Member, faculty of DevRight Speaker Development Series, and part-time teaching faculty of Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia Department of Dental Medicine GPR program.

Dr. Fava lectures nationally and internationally on breakthrough discoveries and trending topics related to modern dental implant surgery, soft-tissue esthetics, and biological bone augmentation. He has authored and co-authored numerous scientific articles published in peer-reviewed academic journals including the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry (IJPRD).

In his role as Owner and Clinical Director of PCDIP, Dr. Fava leads a hand-picked team of highly skilled surgeons who bring more than eight decades of combined experience to the practice.
