A board-certified dental implant surgeon and periodontist, Philip L. Fava II, DMD, MDSc is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Fava has a passion for patient-centered and state-of-the-art periodontal and implant therapy that is evident in all that he does.
Dr. Fava specializes in esthetic implant placement, oral plastic surgery, and laser-assisted LANAP® and LAPIP® gum disease treatment. He is also one of a handful of area periodontal specialists to be certified in the minimally invasive Chao Pinhole® treatment for gum rejuvenation, for which Dr. Fava personally trained with Dr. John Chao.
Dr. Fava earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in Philadelphia from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (UPenn) and completed his specialty residency in Periodontics and Masters in Dental Science (MDSc) at the University of Connecticut (UConn).
He serves as a peer instructor in the pre-doctoral program at UPenn and has contributed his talents as clinical instructor at UConn, bringing an enthusiasm for learning to each person he meets.
Dr. Fava is a Fellow of the prestigious International Team for Implantology (ITI) and a member of the American Dental Association. In 2015, he was elected President of the Eastern Dental Society, the region’s largest and oldest dental society.
When time allows, Dr. Fava enjoys soccer and cycling, snowshoeing, cross-country and downhill skiing. When not in motion, Dr. Fava loves spending time with family.
