The second annual Gala for Smiles raised more than $20,000. More than 200 people, including all the Levine family, many staff members and special dental friends like Drs. Middleberg, Randel and Makrauer, attended the March 12th event held at Spring Mill Country Club. Bari Levine, a Temple DMD/MPH student and daughter of Dr. Levine and Dr. Sheryl Radin, again organized the event and served as master of ceremonies. Proceeds will be used for the Growing Smiles Foundation’s fifth trip to Peru this coming summer. A dedicated group of volunteer dentists, dental students and other dental professionals, including all of the Levine family, will once again provide free dental care to orphanages in the Lima, Peru area.Levine and girls

Dr. Angela Requena from UPC Dental School in Lima, Peru delivered the keynote address. Growing Smiles Foundation is partnering with UPC Dental School at the orphanage this coming summer. Dr. Requena spoke about her school’s extensive outreach programs to Peru’s many poorer communities.
