Dr. Levine Awarded LANAP® Medal

Dr. Robert A. Levine recently spoke at the 6th Annual LANAP® (Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure) study prior to the American Academy of Periodontology’s 102th annual meeting, held September in San Diego, California.

After his presentation, Dr. Levine was presented the prestigious LANAP® Gold Medal Hero Award by developers of the LANAP® technique, Dr. Robert H. Gregg and Dr. Dawn M. Gregg of Millennium Dental Technologies. Dr. Levine and Dr. Fava are among a handful of periodontists in the Philadelphia region to offer LANAP®,  a minimally invasive and advanced laser treatment for gum disease.

Dr. Levine also participated at the closing panel discussion which included Dr. Ray Yukna (sitting to Dr. Levine’s left in the photo below), who is Professor of Advanced Periodontal Therapies at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. In 2007, Dr. Yukna completed the first human study showing the histologic benefits of the Millennium Dental Laser in treating periodontal disease in adults.
