Innovators in Periodontics—And Proud of it!

At the Pennsylvania Center for Dental Implants and Periodontics, we stay ahead of the curve by incorporating cutting-edge technologies into all aspects of our patient treatments and procedures.

We reverse stubborn gum disease with minimally invasive lasers, guarantee optimal dental implant placement with 3D diagnostic tools, utilize today’s latest biotechnologies for healing and bone regeneration therapies, and incorporate ultrasound vibration to aid in cleaning and grafting surgery.

Our skilled periodontists and hygienists work together to help you achieve your best oral health. Our overall commitment to excellence includes ensuring that your total comfort and safety are always a top priority.

Laser Technology

Have you heard about LANAP® ? This FDA-approved PerioLase® laser-assisted new attachment procedure is a modern alternative to traditional gum surgery. With LANAP, we can help reverse gum disease and address periodontal pockets, saving what may have been thought of as hopeless teeth. And we can precisely target infected gum tissue without harming health tissue.

There are tons of benefits of LANAP® versus traditional gum surgery, including:

  • Decreased discomfort and bleeding
  • Less downtime after treatment
  • Treat entire mouth in one visit
  • No sutures

Cone Beam Tomography, Intra-Oral Scanners and More

Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans expose patients to less radiation than traditional x-rays and provide critical three-dimensional imaging in seconds. CBCT delivers detailed, precise panoramic anatomical images that allow us to view full oral anatomy and determine optimum locations for dental implants while avoiding areas where there may be insufficient bone density

A complementary system, the Trios® intro-oral scanner, takes the place of those yucky impression trays of the past. Trios lets us create a 3D model of your mouth that can be immediately used for diagnostics and then relied on for handy future reference.

With the handheld Ostell ISQ, we can precisely measure how your dental implant is healing. This computerized device lets us check implant stability and how the implant is integrating into the bone in the natural process known as osseointegration.

The Piezosurgery® Ultrasonic Surgery System

This advanced dental bone surgery utilizes ultrasound vibration to help us place dental implants with greater precision, less swelling, less bleeding, faster healing and in less time. We also utilize the technique in extractions, crown lengthening, bone grafting and other regenerative procedures. This technology is extremely kind fo bone and spares soft tissue unlike traditional rotational burs you are used to with dental drills. Additionally, this technology can be  utilized during scaling and root planing treatments.

But wait… there’s more! We don’t want to sound like an infomercial, but we haven’t even discussed some of the additional techniques we incorporate, like our use of advanced biologics like GEM21s®, Emdogain® and Leukocyte Platelet-Rich Fibrin (L=PRF). These natural therapies help promote healing and periodontal regeneration.  Osteocel bone matrix material, Bio-Oss® collagen and Bio-Gide® porcine collagen material are other therapies we utilize to enhance tissue healing and bone growth.

Your teeth and gum health are important, not just for speaking, eating and smiling but, potentially to help you stay healthy overall.
