Philadelphia Tri-State Area ITI Study Club
Established in 1980, the International Team for Implantology has become the largest independent academic organization in implant dentistry and the related field of tissue regeneration with over 16,000 members and Fellows worldwide. Its founding members had the vision that progress in the field of implant dentistry is best achieved if a inter-disciplinary team of clinicians and researchers collaborate closely to improve products and treatment methods on an ongoing basis and to keep abreast of the latest findings in the field. It unites professionals around the world from all fields of implant dentistry and hard and soft tissue regeneration. The organization strongly supports the premise of well-documented treatment guidelines backed by extensive clinical testing and the compilation of long-term results. As an independent academic association, it actively promotes networking and exchange among its membership. ITI Members regularly share their knowledge and expertise from clinical practice at meetings, courses and congresses with the objective of constantly improving treatment methods and outcome for the benefit of their patients.
In 1997, Dr. Levine was granted Fellowship in the ITI. In 2007, he became a member of the US Education Committee of the ITI and at that time, was chosen Director and Program Chairman of the Philadelphia Tri-State Area ITI Study Club, one of the original 6 ITI Study Clubs. Dr. Levine is presently (2018-2022) committee chair of the US ITI Membership/Fellowship Committee. In 2017, Dr. Fava was granted Fellowship in the ITI.
Participation in an ITI Study Club locally is a unique opportunity to not only have first-hand access to the latest innovative explosions in the fields of regeneration, esthetics and implant dentistry, but to also develop a personal network of like-minded professionals constantly striving to improve evidence-based treatment methods for optimal patient care.
Additionally, Dr. Levine was one of 100 representatives from around the world invited to participate in both the ITI 4th Consensus Conference in Stuttgart, Germany (2008), the 5th Consensus Conference in Bern, Switzerland (2013), and the 6th Consensus Conference in Amsterdam (2018) to establish treatment protocols for implant dentistry worldwide. The ITI Consensus Conferences (every 5 years) together with the ITI funded Treatment Guides, World Symposiums and US Congresses represent the foundation for the gold standard in implant dentistry treatment guidelines.
Drs. Fava and Levine feel that their participation as Fellows of the ITI has enabled them to raise their level of clinical practice by sharing techniques and knowledge with renowned leaders from around the country and worldwide. They both feel that their affiliation and continued involvement with the ITI, along with the ITI’s commitment to “raising the bar” in all areas of implant dentistry contributes to their practice success and, more importantly, to the well-being of their patients.
The doctors have planned an exciting agenda for 2019. We have invited a truly superstar, world-class line-up of ITI speakers. We will continue to hold our Philadelphia Tri-State ITI dinner meetings at the Buck Hotel in Feasterville; however, all presentations will be scheduled on Thursday evenings at 6:00 PM. This change is to accommodate the US ITI Education agenda for the near future when live Thursday night webinars will be available to all study clubs in the US ITI.
