We’ve told you how the Levines, along with a Temple University School of Dentistry group, teamed up with students and faculty from the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) for last summer’s five-day mission trip to Peru. This wonderful, collaborative effort provided more than 700 dental treatments including cleanings, sealings, composite restorations and stainless steel crowns for 350 patients.
As part of the trip, the three Levines (Dr. Robert A. Levine, daughter Dr. Bari Levine, and Dr. Levine’s wife, Dr. Sheryl Radin (founder of the Growing Smiles pediatric dental practice in Yardley, PA) also gave seminars to the UPC Dental School students and faculty members. Dr. Robert A. Levine spoke about dental implant treatment classification. Dr. Radin lectured on oral sedation techniques for children, while Dr. Bari Levine provided an overview of the entire humanitarian project which she started back in 2012 as a student at Temple.
While the rest of the family were away, Dr. Ross Levine (son of Dr. Robert A Levine and Dr. Sheryl Radin) held down the fort at Growing Smiles. That’s right, FOUR dentists in one family!
Our Dr. Levine is also helping UPC with their post-graduate Perio/Implantology program scheduled to open a year from now. He will be appointed professor for the program and plans to conduct seminars, teaching clinically to their residents as well as conducting interdisciplinary lectures. The success of the joint Temple University/UPC partnership is such that the Levines are lobbying for similar future collaborations with the two schools’ nutrition and medical schools.
We’re very proud of Dr. Levine and his dynamic dental family!
