Our surgical assistant Heather Beck is no stranger to the world of dentistry. One of the newer faces you may see at both our Philadelphia and Ambler practice locations, Heather says that she’s “loved this field since attending dental tech school as a teen.”
Heather subsequently worked 14 years with Dr. Harry Habbel, a now-retired general dentist. “Dr. Habbel would always refer his patients to the periodontal specialists here at Pennsylvania Center for Dental Implants and Periodontics. He said these doctors were the best in the field of periodontics and dental implants, and when he retired, I was thrilled to be able to find employment with this practice and be able to work with “the best” myself—Drs. Fava, Schoenebeck and Klass.”
“There was no second guessing,” says Heather. Dr. Habbel’s reliance in this practice (PA Center) was so great that I also felt totally confident when assuring our patients they would be in great hands.”
Heather says that the slightly different world of periodontics, when compared to general dentistry, is “always interesting” since there are so many different ways periodontics can save or replace teeth. “It’s such a science understanding what is going on above and below the gumline.”
The proud mother of two high school students (17-year-old son Tommy graduates next year and 15-year-old daughter Phoenix will be going into 10th grade), Heather enjoys relaxing on her back deck with family and friends and spending time with Joplin, her bulldog.
“Life is short – it’s great that I can wake up every day and know I’m going to enjoy my job,” she says. “I am lucky to really love interacting with our patients and staff at both of our locations.”
