The Jig is Up! Great Irish Tunes Forecasted for This Weekend

Irish 200Just another reminder to come see Dr. Levine and his Irish Civil War band, The 69th Pennsylvania Irish Volunteers. All proceeds will be donated to Civil War battlefield, tombstone dedication and Irish history preservation projects. To date, the group has raised close to $100,000 and have placed 94 tombstones on Veteran’s Day for soldiers, since, as Dr. Levine says, “every mother’s son deserves a proper marker.”

When: Saturday, March 11th, 7 pm to midnight

Where: Sumney Tavern, 1610 West Point Pike, Lansdale, PA

Why: Support Civil War battlefield preservation and have a great evening! You’ll tap your toes to Irish classic folk songs, ballads and original tunes featuring our favorite PCDIP founder, Dr. Robert A. Levine!

Can’t make the event? You can order a copy of the band’s two CDs — “Rock of Erin” or “In Their Honor” by calling us at 215-677-8686. For more background information, check out a feature story about the band from the Montgomeryville Patch or visit the 69th PA Irish Volunteers’ website.
