Mark you calendars! Come see Dr. Levine and his Irish Civil War band, The 69th Pennsylvania Irish Volunteers, for a pre-St. Patrick’s Day performance on Saturday, March 11th at the Sumney Tavern. All proceeds will be donated to Civil War battlefield, tombstone dedication and Irish history preservation projects. To date, they’ve raised close to $100,000 and have placed 94 tombstones on Veteran’s Day for soldiers, since, as Dr. Levine says, “every mother’s son deserves a proper marker.”
The band has performed at the Sumney Tavern since 1999 and will again offer a lively medley of Irish classic folk songs, ballads and original tunes from 7 pm to midnight. The Sumney Tavern, an Irish pub, is located at 1610 West Point Pike, Lansdale, PA, 19446.
